Delegate, Republican Party National Convention, 1996, 2000, 2004. President, Maryland Association of Counties, 2004 (treasurer, 2000-01; secretary, 2001). Past president, North Harford Republican Club; Harford Lodge, Fraternal Order of Police. Member, Highland Community Association; Parent Teacher Association, North Harford Elementary School; Mt. Ararat Lodge, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons (AF&AM). Police Officer of the Year - Harford County, Baltimore Sun, 1981. Deputy of the Year, Harford County Sheriff's Department, 1981.
