Legal intern to Judge John R. Hargrove, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, 1989-90. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1990. Principal attorney & sole practitioner, Smith & Smith, P.C., 1992-98. Member, Maryland State Bar Association; Frederick County Bar Association (judicial nominating committee, 1999; professionalism committee, 2003); National Association of District Attorneys; Maryland State's Attorneys Association.
