North Shore Community College, A.A., 1971; Goddard College, B.A., 1976; George Washington University, M.A., 1979; University of Baltimore School of Law, J.D., 1985. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1985. Attorney. Member, Maryland State Bar Association, 1986- (criminal law & practice section; board of directors, 2000-02); Calvert County Bar Association, 1985- (president, 1988-89). Board of Directors, Maryland State's Attorneys' Association, 1985-2005 (president, 2003-05; 1st vice-president, 2005); National District Attorneys' Association, 1986-2005 (president, 2003-05). Fellow, Maryland Bar Foundation, 2002-. Honorary Advisory Council, Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maryland.
