Report to Governor & General Assembly due Oct. 1, 2007 (Chapter 610, Acts of 2006).
In July 2006, the Task Force on Green Building was authorized (Chapter 610, Acts of 2006).
The Task Force is to evaluate and recommend methods to increase public demand for environmentally sensitive communities, and ways to improve low-impact sustainable development. By studying Green Building techniques and low-impact development codes around the country, it further will determine what makes a Green Building program effective. The Task Force also will consider how to improve communication regarding a green building program to communities, businesses, and developers. Moreover, the Task Force is to identify the potential for reducing costs of low-impact development through stormwater management, roadbuilding, and other infrastructure for communities.
Authorization for the Task Force expires October 31, 2007.
