Report to Governor & General Assembly due Dec. 31, 2006 (Chapter 21, Acts of 2006).

The Joint Legislative Task Force on Universal Access to Quality and Affordable Health Care organized in July 2005 (Chapter 280, Acts of 2005; Chapter 21, Acts of 2006). The Task Force is to study and make recommendations on how to make quality, affordable health care (including primary care, specialty care, hospitalization, and prescription drug coverage) accessible to all Maryland citizens. The "Dirigo Health" plan, the California employer mandate, or other innovative state health-care coverage programs will be examined.

Authorization for the Task Force extends to June 30, 2007.
