Maryland is one of four districts comprising the Mid-Atlantic Section of the United States Tennis Association. With approximately 11,000 members in Maryland, the Maryland District administers tournaments, selects an honorary All-State High School Team and a junior Team Maryland, supports USA League Tennis, and provides financial support to local tennis organizations.
Since 1986, Baltimore has hosted Pam Shriver's Charity Tennis Challenge.
