Some genealogical, educational and biographical materials available from the Maryland State Archives website require password access. This is done because of the file size or format, to honor copyright restrictions or because the files are restricted to staff access only.

If a volume requires a password for access, that restriction will be noted on the Archives of Maryland Online title page for the volume, along with information on the procedure for obtaining a password.

Please note that volume 426 (Edward C. Papenfuse, et al. A Biographical Dictionary of the Maryland Legislature, 1635-1789), is not currently available online.
